Recruitment here at UC Davis is a week long process in which you have the opportunity to meet amazing young women who will be going through recruitment with you.
Recruitment is a mutual selection process. Each day you prioritize the chapters you would like to return to the following day. Similarly, the chapters narrow the amount of women they invite to chapter events. Each day you will attend at least two fewer chapter events than the day before, eventually ending with preference night, where you attend no more than two chapter events. The following day you will receive a bid from one of these chapter inviting you to pledge that chapter!
During this exciting week, you will be assigned to a recruitment group led by a Recruitment Counselor who will help guide you through this process. Your Recruitment Counselor is a disaffiliated sorority member associated with Panhellenic and will be your greatest resource for this amazing experience. As you will be with the same group and Recruitment Counselor throughout the week, directly upon coming to college you have the chance to make some life-long friends and at the very least, someone to share this amazing time with! Get excited!
Why go Greek? Joining a sorority is an amazing experience where you will form life-long friendships. It is like having a home away from home where you know you are always welcomed. The best way to describe it is, "From the outside looking in, you can never understand it. But from the inside looking out, you can't explain it."
Being a part of Alpha Chi Omega, you form memories that will last you for a lifetime. Alpha Chi's are involved in everything, from social events to philanthropy and scholarship. You can always find something to do!
