The Alpha Chi Omega house in Davis, CA.

Located in Downtown Davis, 137 C Street.

In 1984, at the University of California, Davis, interest surfaced in the expansion of the Davis Panhellenic community. Four sororities were asked to present proposals on becoming the new sorority on the UCD campus and the deciding community chose Alpha Chi Omega. Recruitment was coordinated with the help of Maureen Mason and Panhellenic President, Kathy Hayes. The Alpha Chi Rush Team consisted of: National Vice President-Members, Betty Wall; National Panhellenic Delegate, Jan Miller; Collegiate Field Consultant, Donna McGrath; and former National Vice President-Collegians, Ellen Vandenbrink. This committee spent many hours interviewing more than 200 interested women. After the interviews, 100 girls were chosen to attend a second rush event. Actives from UC Berkeley and Sacramento State helped with all the recruiting. (Alpha Chi was well represented that night!) That night, the Recruitment Committee finally phoned 83 anxious women to invite them to be the founding members of the Alpha Chi Omega colony at UC Davis. These 83 women were initiated as the Theta Pi Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, UC Davis, on June 7, 1986.
